Manager, Product Strategy (Brand Management)

The Role:

Coterie is looking for a Manager, Product Strategy to lead product strategy definition, positioning, and go-to-market for multiple initiatives across the digital and physical product ecosystem. They will make meaningful, data-driven, consumer-centric, and business-aligned decisions throughout development and after launch to ensure we meet/exceed business objectives. 

 This role will serve as a product leader and must understand the interplay between product design, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, brand, marketing, business goals, and claims to drive and streamline decision making and go-to-market strategy.

The ideal candidate for this role is a collaborative teammate that can wear many hats and is a strategic and thoughtful communicator, able to distill clarity out of ambiguity. The Manager, Product Strategy will develop a strategic roadmap while also quarterbacking strategy through GTM of the 1-2 year release cycle. This role will sit on the Product Marketing & Management team and report directly to the Head of Product Marketing & Management. 

 

Requirements 

You Will:

  • Define product strategy, performance targets, and future release strategy for multiple products to achieve innovation objectives.
  • Own the cross-functional strategy-setting process from concept to go-to-market briefing and manage stakeholders to ensure decisions ladder up to product strategy and financial targets.
  • Make pricing, case count, product size, and initial sales volume recommendations to our Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, regulatory, and QA to define product testing requirements to achieve performance claims.
  • Recommend product positioning and the messaging hierarchy, working closely with Consumer Insights and R&D to ensure we design for our target consumer persona(s) and our Brand/Creative teams to ensure messaging hierarchy is reflected in the creative and campaign execution. 
  • Partner with our CX team for new product training, and optimize the feedback loop on customer feedback, requests & complaints.
  • Monitor in-market performance with our Data Analytics team to provide cross-functional readouts and strategic recommendations to improve ongoing product performance.
  • Compile competitive market research and educate the team at large about what others in our space are doing, successfully and unsuccessfully.
  • Closely follow emerging technology, consumer, and societal trends to ensure product positioning and strategy aligns with our core brand principles.

 
You Have:

  • 3-5 years of experience across brand management, product management, product development, management consulting, or similar; candidates with deeper experience are encouraged to apply as well and title/level may be reconsidered 
  • Experience with physical consumer products
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline, MBA a plus
  • Physically located in the United States
  • Willing to travel domestically on occasion
  • A strong collaborator with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders 
  • A proven ability to define an opportunity based on real-world insights, set product strategy and success criteria, develop competitive positioning, and build product requirements to align cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with e-commerce product teams is a plus
  • An understanding of project management, capable of identifying interdependencies between functions
  • An ability to transform and refine day-to-day progress into periodic updates and decisions for leadership, who will trust you to manage the details
  • Strong communication and strategy skills with an analytical mindset
  • An appetite for problem-solving and flexibility with fast-paced, ever-changing environments

Salary & Title

The title and expected base salary for this role is $109,000-$140,000 depending on a number of factors including job, level, experience and skill set.
