The Diaper is made of 25% plant-based materials, and is free of fragrance, lotion, dyes, parabens, phthalates, chlorine, alcohol, VOCs, optical brighteners, heavy metals, latex and rubber (all elastic materials used in the diaper are of synthetic origin, such as elastane).
It’s engineered with an absorbent core made of sodium polyacrylate (SAP) and Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) wood pulp from sustainably managed forests, with a backsheet made from polyester/polyethylene based nonwoven and polyethylene/CaCO3 film; and topsheet made of polypropylene; non-woven acquisition layer made of polyester; core wrap made of polypropylene; hook tab fastening system made of polypropylene/polyethylene. Plus adhesives, elastics, and a wetness indicator.
Testing for chemical compounds was completed by an independent laboratory in Hamburg, Germany in August 2020.
The Diaper was tested, and proven to be free of, below detectable, or significantly below allowed levels (when regulation exists) for nearly 200 chemicals that may be considered toxic or harmful for use, including:
- Alkylphenol ethoxylates

A 100-subject clinical HRIPT test was conducted by SGS Laboratories between April and May 2019 under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist as a co-investigator. In this repeat insult patch test, all materials used in The Diaper that may come in contact with baby’s skin were clinically tested for safety under dermatological supervision and proven to be as gentle as water and hypoallergenic; none of the test materials induced sensitization in human subjects.
